Sugar & Spice...

Last Thursday we had our 20 week ultrasound to see #2. We were so excited to see our little one again! When we had this ultrasound with Will, we found out at the doctors office that he was a boy. This time, I talked Matt into doing something a little more fun to find out if sweet potato was a boy/girl. During the ultrasound we focused on making sure everything was developing normally and decided to get the technician to write down the gender. Most importantly, everything looks great and right on track for my due date of 11-11-11. After what seemed like forever (the appointment lasted longer than we anticipated), we made our way to the Cheesecake Factory. Actually, the suspense was killing Matt--like I said, I really talked him into this crazy idea--so he beat me there. He told the waitress our plan of ordering Red Velvet for a girl and waited for me to get there to choose the flavor for the boy. Of course I wanted chocolate, so I chose Chocolate Turtle for a boy. We gave the card to the waitress and off she went, only to bring back....
Red Velvet!! It's a GIRL!!

I have to admit, I was surprised, but not completely shocked. You see, the morning of Will's ultrasound I woke up and knew he was a boy. Lucky for me, I did the same thing with this little one. Last Thursday, I woke up and knew she was a girl. Call it intuition, but it's fun to have that gut feeling with both Will & this sweet girl.

After we found out the good news, we ate a fantastic meal and had fun dreaming about this new little one. We talked about names--haven't decided on one yet, but we're getting close--what she might look like, what her personality might be like....and all other sorts of things. Matt admitted that even though he thought it was a little nuts to find out in this unconventional way, he really liked that we could celebrate just the 2 of us and have fun planning for our little girl.

We love you already, sweet girl, and we can't wait to meet you in November!!

Here Comes Trouble

That's right! Will started walking! He took his first steps on Memorial Day weekend and hasn't looked back since. We took a trip to Colorado last week (blog post to follow), and he really took off. It's adorable! He is still pretty unstable and has the "drunk man walk", but he's starting to get the hang of it. Whenever he falls, he gives us a big smile because of how proud of himself he is. Hooray for Will!!
