bluebonnets & a birthday

My birthday was a couple of weeks ago. We had a wonderful time celebrating! My parents came in town for the weekend, and we were able to get a babysitter so we could go on a double-date without the babies. We went to Papasito's and it was wonderful!

Then, my parents took the babies & Matt surprised me with a night at the new Omni. We were able to sleep in without being awakened with crying babies. Glorious.

GJ brought Will some cars!

Favorite toys right now--vroom!

On Sunday, we took the babies to a fund raiser for my school--The Rise & Shine 5K. Even though it was cloudy, the rain held off and it turned out to be the most successful run we've ever had! We ate some yummy Bar-B-Q and Will seemed to love all the activities.

Will loved the petting zoo

The best group photo we could get--I didn't realize Caroline was sneaking a sip of my tea! :)

We ended the celebration with brunch (at Breadwinners) and a visit to the arboretum on Monday. The babies went to school and Matt & I took off from work, so we had a lovely time just the two of us. A perfect ending to a wonderful birthday weekend.

And what post would be complete without some pictures of my littles? We took some pictures in the bluebonnets a while back, and I just had to share them. :)

Celebrating Easter

"As for me, I know that my
Redeemer Lives, and at last
He will take His stand on the earth."
Job 19:25

Easter is a special holiday for all of us who profess Jesus Christ as Lord. It's a pivotal moment in our belief. Our pastor, Todd Wagner, challenged us last Sunday to really contemplate the question "Easter--so what?". He proposed several reasons why Easter is so important to the Christian faith, and challenged us to live every day like it's Easter. I never want to forget the sacrifice that Jesus made for me on the cross--it amazes me every time I think about it. If you want to hear our Easter sermon, you can click  HERE.

This was the first year that Will really got into the different Easter activities. He LOVED going on easter egg hunts--each time he opened an egg, he "ooooh"ed and "ahhhh"ed. Precious. He's still too young to really understand the true meaning behind Easter, but I was challenged to think that next year we can start to do some activities that focus on the story of Christ and his sacrifice for us.

We were excited that Matt's mom came to visit for the weekend! It's always nice to celebrate holidays with extended family. We had quite the weekend! It started on Friday with lunch at the bakery, followed by a Good Friday service that night. On Saturday we went to a carnival at a local church, a birthday party, and we went to our Easter service early to avoid the Sunday craziness. On Sunday we had a relaxing morning, and then we went to the Tramontes for a egg hunt and lunch. Whew! It was a fun weekend, but BUSY!! Get ready for some pictures! :)

He loved the bunnies, ducks and chicks!

I didn't think it was possible, but his hair has gotten even curlier!

Caroline was a little sad that she couldn't hunt for eggs. Give it a year, and she'll be out there with the best of them. :)

The whole crew. Love how the babies are concerned about Will & why he was screaming. He is still not a fan of the group photo.
