First Day of Mother's Day Out 2012

Today was the first day of Mother's Day Out at First Kids! We love the program at First Baptist of Richardson, and we are excited to get back into the routine. Both Will and Caroline seemed to love their new teachers and had a fun first day back. We are looking forward to a great school year!

On the Road Again...

After we returned home from the beach, we had a day to recover before we were off again. This time it was a road trip to visit my family in Little Rock. We had a great time seeing family and visiting with old friends!
We started off the visit with a play-date with Kelly & John Carter Stuckey. The boys had so much fun playing together! I love that Kelly and I have stayed friends through the years, and now Will has a friend to play with when we visit.
We also visited with family--Caroline had so much fun playing with her cousin, Lauren!

Lauren did a great job giving Caroline her bottle!
We had fun going to the church playground almost every afternoon!

And look who starting pulling up on everything!
We had some cooler weather, so the boys loved having breakfast outside on the patio.

We had lots of playtime, and Will was re-united with his favorite toy--the car racer!
He also developed a love for a new toy--the guitar! Mr. Ryan would be proud.

Will was measured for the first time on the family growth wall! He was so excited to see how tall he was!

Papa carried on the tradition of being the official height checker.

Look at all those memories! It will be fun to see his height compared with all of his cousins!

Allright! High 5!

Even though we had a wonderful visit, I think we were all excited to get back to Texas!

First Family Beach Vacation

We have had a fun few weeks of summer vacation! I have been off work for the past 3 weeks (one of the perks of my job!), so we took advantage of the free time to visit family. First, we were off to Port Aransas, TX to spend time with Matt's mom. We always love spending time with Mimi! It was the first time for Matt to go bay fishing without his dad, so it was a little bittersweet. Even though he was terribly missed, I think we all enjoyed talking about him and memories that had been made through the years with him by the water. It was also the first time the babies have been to the beach--they loved it!
Will doesn't sleep in the car, but he was a great traveler as long as he had his iPad. :)
The first day we were there, we had a fun lunch date by the water.
Caroline was a happy girl--especially in the mornings.
We had so much fun at the beach! When we got there, we found an awesome sand castle that had been built. Will had a blast knocking the entire thing down. :)
Caroline had fun playing with her sand toys too.
Will loved the ocean! However, if you would have taken a picture 30 seconds before this one, you would have seen me forcing him to step into the water. And by forcing, I mean he was literally kicking and screaming. You would have thought I was torturing the poor child. He's not one to try new things on his own. But, as you can tell by this picture, he ended up loving it once he tried it.  :)
Caroline didn't need as much convincing. :) She loved being in the water with her daddy!
I love this little face.
Her precious little swimsuit: "Caroline Rae Emmons"
By the end of the afternoon, he was getting more brave by the second. He even put his toes in the water all by himself. :)
My favorite. I hope this memory stays in my mind forever. Bev has the most beautiful smile and infectious laugh...
What a wonderful vacation. I can't wait to go back...

Vacation Part 2 still to come!
