Buba & C-C

It seems like I'm always getting the question, "how is Will adjusting to having a little sister?", so I thought I'd do a post on how well things are going. I was a little nervous about how he would react to Caroline, since--let's be honest--he's a mama's boy. I was worried that he would be jealous or that he would see her as a threat. Turns out, things are quite the opposite. He adores her. He's constantly wanting to hold her, kiss her, and he is always saying "hi sissy/c-c" while patting her head. If I need to get him to do something, all I have to say is, "first ____ then c-c" and he complies. When it's time to wake her up, he runs to her room and tries to climb in her crib while saying "hi c-c" over and over until he gets to hold her. I think the feeling is mutual too. Lately when Caroline has been crying, she immediately stops when Will pats her head. And she is really starting to smile and giggle while watching him play.

I love these two little ones--they are my joy...

First bath time together

Yes, Caroline is modest. But as the diva that she is, she gets cold/screams without warm washcloths on her  :)

Holding hands during playtime in C-C's crib

She wants to be just like her big brother...  :)

The Civil Wars

Last week was Matt's birthday! It was a crazy week--I got really sick, our dryer stopped working ( no laundry for me!), Matt's sister unexpectedly stayed with us for a few days, and my parents came to visit for the weekend. Even though it was a wild few days, we loved all of the extra family time--more reason to celebrate Matt's birthday!

On the 19th (his actual birthday), I took him out to Times Ten Cellars. We ordered pizza from Scallini's and split a bottle of wine. It was wonderful. Two hours of just us--spending time together and talking. We loved it so much, that we're hoping to go back soon.

Friday, we celebrated with a yummy dinner at home with my parents--complete with balloons and a cookie cake. :)

Saturday was the real celebration. Matt went to Waco with my dad to watch the basketball game. That night we had a double date with Ryan & Jama--we went to the Angry Dog for some amazing burgers, and then we all went to see The Civil Wars in concert at The House of Blues. It was amazing. A guy, a girl, and a guitar on stage. That's it. No fancy lights or gimmicks. Just really good music. I liked them before the concert, but now I'm a really big fan. I think Matt had a great time & it was fun celebrating him with some of our favorite friends. I wish I took more pictures of all the birthday festivities, but here's what I have from the concert...

What they really look like, since you can't really tell from the previous picture. :)

And just in case you want to see their video of my favorite song--Poison & Wine...

And another one I love--Barton Hollow...

Happy Birthday to the best husband, friend, and father on the planet. We love you!!!

Baking Cookies

Will has really started to enjoy cooking/baking. So, we decided to make Christmas cookies for the first time with Will as the head baker. He loved it! It was hard to wait for them to bake in the oven, but I think he enjoyed the end result.... :)
Putting in all the ingredients

Making sure they all had enough M&Ms

Somebody looks guilty!  :)

Putting them in the oven...

Waiting for them to bake...
Finally! We get to eat them! Yummy!
