Christmas in Dallas

Oh, what a fun Christmas holiday we had this year! The fun began on Christmas Eve, starting with cinnamon rolls and ended with a candlelight service at Watermark. I'm thankful that our church has a service on Christmas EveIt was really good to remember why we celebrate, in the midst of Santa and presents happening the next day.

She's starting to have some curls like her brother! :)

Beautiful girl

He wasn't very excited about getting his picture taken,  but he looked very handsome in his Christmas best too.

A rare photo of just the 2 of us

Mesmerized by the Fire Pits!

After eating a yummy dinner of cheese enchiladas (another tradition), we opened our first presents on Christmas Eve (always new pajamas) and we set out cookies for Santa. We started our new tradition of watching "The Polar Express" (Will LOVED it! He averaged watching it 2 times a day, the week after Christmas!), and then it was off to bed with excitement about the next morning!

She was a big fan of the enchiladas--Pops would have been proud.  :)

Yum.

Opening the first present (dress-less due to the enchiladas!)

Cookies for Santa

What a surprise to wake up to snow on Christmas morning!! It was amazing! It made it really feel like Christmas. We had so much fun seeing what Santa brought--Will got a new wooden train set, and Caroline got her first baby dolls!

Santa came for Caroline!

And for Will!

He even brought Will a new train set!

I think he liked it.  :)

Caroline has recently decided that she likes pacifiers, so Santa brought her several  :)

Santa also brought Caroline her first baby dolls

Will got some really cool blocks from Santa!

After Santa, we took a little break to have family breakfast. We celebrated Jesus' birthday by lighting a candle and singing happy birthday. :)

After breakfast, we opened the presents we gave each other. We continued the tradition of giving 4 gifts to keep it simple: something you need, something you want, something to read, and a new outfit. We had so much fun!

Since it was snowing outside, I thought it would be fun to play outside! Wrong. It was an epic fail. The kids hated getting bundled up, and they hated the cold snow. Then, Will dropped one of his beloved cars and it was lost forever. You would have thought the world had ended. Oh well. Maybe we'll get another white Christmas in 50 years again.  :)

Not a fan of getting bundled up

It was kinda fun at the beginning...

Still not quite sure what to think...

By the end...failure.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing at home by the fire and playing with our new things. We ended the day with a delicious family meal together.

What a wonderful Christmas holiday! After having my two precious babies, the birth of of Jesus means even more to me now. Thinking of how Mary had Jesus in a stable....it's amazing. To think that He was once a babe, just like Will and Caroline--so small and innocent--I'm thankful that Christ loved me enough to come to earth--with the intention to save me. How amazing!! I hope you all had a wonderful celebration with the ones you love. After spending our white Christmas here in Dallas, we were off to Arkansas on the 27th--more pictures to come! :)
