Be My Valentine

We had so much fun celebrating Valentine's Day last week! It was fun to encourage Will to say "I love you" all day, and Caroline became a pro at blowing kisses. :)

I sort of threw some things together at the last minute--to be honest, I wasn't sure how I felt about getting the babies commercial gifts...I'm a big believer that you should consistently show love throughout the year instead of just on one random day, and I felt like whatever we did this year will "stick" with Will for next year. I couldn't decide what to do, and then the day was upon us! Thankfully, GJ and MiMi sent some gifts and I decided to celebrate using those. I also had some red crepe paper, so I decorated a little, so they would realize that it was a holiday. Overall, it was a success! I think they understood that it was a special day, but we didn't go overboard.
My awesome decorating skills! :)

Will always has fun opening presents...

         A Valentines breakfast!
I'm a little bummed that I didn't get a picture of the babies in their cute Valentines outfits. Oh well. So is life with two toddlers. But, here is a classic pic eating valentines breakfast!

This little one is a great eater these days--especially for breakfast!

Matt and I usually celebrate with a quiet night at home. The only different this year, was that we had to stay on schedule with exercising. So yes, we were THOSE crazy people working out on valentines. Silly P90X.

As for gifts, I typically do something crafty for Matt and he cooks a yummy dinner. This year, I gave him some candy...

Some delicious cookies...

And I made this for him...

One of Matt's love languages is words of affirmation, so when I saw this on Pinterest I thought it would be a perfect gift for him. I'm not so great in this area, so the hope is that I can give him encouragement throughout the year using this. It was super easy to make! I just printed it, framed it, got some dry erase markers and voila! It's in our bathroom and we've already used it several times. Success! Click HERE if you want to make one.

Will also had a party at school with all of his buddies, and he had a blast! He was so proud of all of his valentines, and he carried them around wherever he went. :)

These are the little valentines I made for their friends...

I hope everyone had a fun day celebrating those that you love! "Mmmwah"! (how Caroline blows kisses these days)
